Differences between UTVs and ATVs

UTVs should not be confused with ATVs, which are all-terrain vehicles. They may bear some resemblance but they are not identical machines. A UTV is a four-wheeled vehicle that looks somewhat like a car in the sense that they come with a steering wheel and foot pedals. UTVs also have bench seating, which is where the common nickname side by side comes from. These vehicles are usually designed to carry at least two passengers and a maximum of six. The hauling power of a UTV is also significantly stronger.

 

Recreational UTV Uses

UTVs can do more than just perform strenuous tasks. For starters, they are an absolute thrill to drive with their power-packed engines and lightning-fast acceleration ability. The ratio of ground clearance to wheelbase is pretty intense compared to many standards trucks and SUVs, which allows UTVs to travel just about anywhere. All you need is a pair of sand paddles if you’re interested in hitting the dunes. If you need more traction in the mud, you can invest in some heavy-duty mudding tires and install a windshield. The options are seemingly endless when using your UTV recreationally.
